Golden Sands is one of the biggest Bulgarian sea resorts. It is situated in the district of Varna and is 13 km away from the City of Varna. With a taxi it is not more than 20 minutes drive. Every hotel has its own taxi station. The national reservation and park Golden Sands is also situated near the resort. The resort has 3.5 km long shore stripe and 100 m wide. One of the symbols of the resort is hotel International, which is a large and magnificent luxury hotel with a casino. Almost all of the hotels have their own swimming pools. Each of them has an animation team that offers theme events. For the yacht enthusiasts there is a yacht harbor. The resort offers walking alleys with shops, a mini-golf course, and small attraction center. Recently there is also possibility for the tourists to buy apartments in the resort. There is a small train service mainly used as an attraction but also as a transport by the tourists. Just nearby Golden Sands there is also the Aquapolis – a water themed park. Golden Sands offers a vivid and rich night life because it is preferred destination for younger people. You can choose between quite and romantic restaurants and bars, night clubs and discos at the beach or national cuisine restaurants. There is also live music and traditional dances in some of the restaurants and clubs. There is something for every taste. The resort never sleeps because when the last visitors of the night clubs go to sleep, you can notice the first tourists going to the beach. The tourists come mainly from Germany, England, Russia and the Scandinavian countries. If you speak a little bit of English you are supposed to be just fine. As always in the beginning and the end of the summer season come more senior citizens and in the middle of the season you can see younger people. Unlike Albena, Golden Sands is more about night life and fun. People with small children and older people would prefer to stay in Riviera, which is a complex located in Golden Sands. There they can enjoy the quiet and peaceful environment of the complex. Please note that as an organized tourist you will have a representative of the tourist company there for you. You will also be offered many interesting tours and events such as boat trips, visitation of local winery and tastings, jeep safari or possibility to explore rural Bulgaria with its traditions or historical places that played important role in the history of the Bulgarians.
